"Zverinjak" je drama koja se odigrava početkom devedesetih godina prošlog veka, u jednom srpskom selu blizu obale Drine. Srna, kćer Straina, najmoćnijeg čoveka u selu, obećana je za ženu Jovanu, sinu seoskog šumara Tadije. Tadija za uzvrat Strainu omogućava da se bavi lovokrađom i bespravnom sečom seoskih šuma. Iako između Srne i Jovana postoji privlačnost oni ipak ne žele da uđu u brak iz interesa koji njihovi očevi pokušavaju da im nametnu. Iznenada, u selo se vraća bivši šumar Petar, koji je sedam godina proveo u zatvoru zbog ubistva starijeg Strainovog sina. Petar dolazi da pronađe Anđu, ženu koju je voleo dok je živeo u selu. Petrov povratak pokreće mnoštvo događaja u životima glavnih junaka ove priče nagoveštavajući njen neizvestan kraj.
